This half-day course is only conducted in-house and is particularly suitable for the hospitality industry or for those involved in the carpet cleaning management at large installations. Wherever possible the training is tailored to the requirements of the particular environment be it a hotel, a cruise ship or a university.

The course is concerned with:

  • The Mechanisms of Soiling and Soil Retention
  • Preventative Maintenance involving the positioning of entrance mats, good housekeeping practice, choice of colour and design and the application of protectors.
  • Routine Maintenance including effective vacuum cleaning and scheduled spot and stain removal procedures
  • Interim (cosmetic) Maintenance
  • Periodic Maintenance by extraction or absorbent powder techniques

The principles of detergency are also explained, as is the WoolSafe Approval Certification Programme for carpet cleaning chemicals.
